2017 CQ Women’s Convention

2017 CQ Women’s Convention

The 2017 Central Queensland Women’s Convention is on Saturday 11 March in Rockhampton.  It’s a quality day for women from across our region to be encouraged and equipped as disciples of Jesus.  Guest speaker Di Warren will be teaching from God’s word about decisions – making choices that honour God.

There’s already plenty of women from our church going, so don’t miss out.  Make sure you get your tickets before Thursday to get the early bird pricing.

Visual Adultery

Visual Adultery

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’  But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”   Matthew 5:27-28

Last Sunday we looked at Jesus’ words in his Sermon on the Mount about lust and adultery. They’re hard words for disciples of Jesus who live in a pornified culture like ours. So many things around us from music clips to billboards invite us to lust after others.

Through the gospel Jesus has freed us from the power of sin – including lust and adultery – to live new lives for him. Free from porn, which is visual adultery.

If you’re struggling with porn, get help. The best place is within a church community. This is a good place to start if you haven’t got anyone close by to turn to.

Here’s a great resource on the damage porn does to those who use it and make it.  It’s not written from a Christian perspective, but by people who see it as a serious public health issue.

Sunday School Breakfast

Sunday School Breakfast

Thanks to everyone who came down to East Shores this morning for the Sunday School Breakfast.  Lots of pancakes (enough for lunch as well!) and fun.  The kids enjoyed cooling off in the water area.

A great way to start the weekend and the Sunday School year.

Six Steps to Loving Your Church

Six Steps to Loving Your Church

Jesus calls his people to love one another. But when it comes to loving one another at church on a Sunday, we often don’t know where to start.

Six Steps to Loving Your Church is a practical training course that helps us to think through how to love one another better.

Running for an hour over six Sundays beginning 12 February, SSLYC begins with the Bible and then helps us to think what this looks like in Gladstone. We also get to learn from one another as we do it!

Send us an email to sign up.
